LEAF PAKRAT Bus on Display On Saturday, May 28, the LEAF PAKRAT bus was on display at the Kiwanis Parade and bike give-away at Lake George.  The Kiwanis Club has become a major donor to the Summer PAKRAT Roll and Read Program.  Sara Martini and Beth Lovdahl, Roll and Read Program coordinators, we present to hand out schedules for this summer’s Bus Route.

LEAF/Rotary/Kiwanis Partnership Encourages Literacy and Summer Reading It’s time to look for the green LEAF “PAKRAT Roll & Read Bus”!  The District 742 Local Education & Activities Foundation (LEAF) announces that the 2016 Summer PAKRAT Literacy Program will begin on Tuesday, June 21.

Exciting News! The PAKRAT Roll and Read book bus will be coming to a neighborhood near you! Come check out your favorite books from our library on the bus!  Don’t worry about bringing your library card, you won’t need it!

ROLL & READ BUS DRIVES UP SUMMER READERSHIP When the colorful Roll & Read Project bus pulled up to elementary schools, Boys and Girls Clubs and neighborhoods this summer, children eager to access the mobile library’s generous array of books came running and climbed aboard.

Since 2011, LEAF has been supporting the Partners And Kids Reading A-lot Together (PAKRAT) program in our District 742 elementary schools.  The program has been a great success, with 87% of the students reporting that PAKRAT has made them a better reader and 98% of the parents indicating they wanted the program to continue.
