LEAF and a St. Cloud Fire Truck Ride to School!
Each year LEAF hosts a live auction at our annual LEAF Learning Renaissance. One of the fun items on the auction is a “Fire Truck Ride to School” for up to two students living within the St. Cloud city limits. The auction winner gets to choose which school gets to select the lucky student(s). This year, Mike Podawiltz and Diana Murphy-Podawiltz won the auction and selected Oak Hill Elementary. With the help of Chris Murphy, music director at Oak Hill, two students were chosen and they received their ride to school on May 16. As you can see from the pictures, the students had a great time on their ride and even more students had a great time welcoming them to school as the fire truck pulled up in the bus chute at Oak Hill! Captain Chris Muller, Fire Apparatus Operator Brian Cash, Firefighter Jody Overman and Fire Chief Matt Love all welcomed the students on-board the Fire Truck and then visited with many of the students at Oak Hill who gathered around as the Fire Truck pulled up. It was a great way to start a school day! LEAF thanks Chief Love and the St. Cloud Fire Department as well as donors Mike Podawiltz and Diana Murphy-Podawiltz!
