2025 LEAF 742 Distinguished Alumni Award

little over two years ago, LEAF made a commitment to recognize outstanding District 742 alumni who have made the St. Cloud area their home and have a positive impact on the community. It was then that we began the “LEAF 742 Distinguished Alumni Award.”
The award criteria are:
- Must be a graduate of a District 742 High School.
- Must have stayed in the St. Cloud area throughout their adult years.
- Must have had a successful career and/or made a significant contribution to the St. Cloud community.
Today, we are extremely proud to recognize Sue and Terry Pladson as this year’s LEAF 742 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients.
Both Sue and Terry are graduates of Tech High School and each are members of the Tech HS Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.
Sue is well-known in the St. Cloud Community. She is the former owner of the successful Pladson Realty, receiving numerous awards from her colleagues across the industry, including being named St. Cloud Chamber’s Small Business Person of the year! Throughout her life, Sue has spent many years working with non-profits and serving on several boards in the St. Cloud area.
Dr. Terry Pladson is the former CEO of CentraCare in St. Cloud. He has received several recognitions in the healthcare field including being named one of Minnesota’s Most Influential Healthcare Leaders by MN Physician Magazine. During his career, Terry published many articles in professional medical journals and has given back to the St. Cloud community through volunteerism and philanthropy.
I somewhat got to know Sue and Terry through their daughter Pam, and especially through their 4 granddaughters, all of whom graduated or currently attend Tech. I can tell you firsthand you’ve had a profound impact on those granddaughters as they each are amazing young women whom I’m certain will follow in your legacies and contribute remarkably to this world as you have done.
That said, it is my privilege to recognize Sue and Terry Pladson with this year’s LEAF 742 Distinguished Alumni Award winners! Congratulations Sue and Terry!!
