Bruce Hentges Retirement Reception

On June 24th, 2024, we celebrated the retirement of Bruce Hentges, LEAF’s long-time Executive Director and his wonderful wife, Colleen, who gave so much to our organization as well.  

We were glad to be able to celebrate with so many people who have played key roles in the growth of LEAF over the past 30 years from an “activities only” organization with a $100,000 start-up loan, to a significant nonprofit with a $2.3 million endowment and over $3 million given in grants to date.  

In lieu of gifts, Bruce urged people to give to LEAF’s Homeless Student Services fund – our fund that helps District 742 families who are experiencing housing instability.
