Retired Activities Director/Educator
Jim attended St. John's University graduating in 1969 with a BA in history and earned his MS in Athletic Administration in 1991 at SCSU. He began his teaching and hockey coaching career at Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, MN. In 1978, he accepted a position as social studies instructor and hockey coach at St. Cloud Cathedral. In 1987 he moved to District 742 where he worked until his retirement in 2008. As Director of Activities/Athletics at Apollo (1994-2008), he previously served on the LEAF Board. In 1996 Jim achieved the level of Certified Athletic Administrator from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Jim was a presenter at both state and national conventions and in 2008 was selected as the Section 8AA Activities Director of the Year.
Jim and wife, Mary, currently reside in rural Watab Township. Both are activily involved with Kids Fighting Hunger of Central Minnesota where they serve as food packaging facilitators and on the KFH Board of Directors. They have two adult sons, John and Patrick, and seven grandchildren - all living in the Sartell area.
